Your online presence has a greater impact on your organisation than you may think. Employee social media activity is often associated with an organisation’s brand. Whether you are the CEO, Senior Manager, or adviser, your LinkedIn profile specifically can impact your organisation’s brand.

A lack of attention to your social media presence can lead to fewer clients and lower social media traffic.

We have included some tips below on how you can improve your platform presence.

View Your Profile from a Client’s Perspective

It’s important to consider how your professional profile appears to potential clients. Simple mistakes, lack of information, and limited posts can lead viewers to click off, which ultimately impacts how your organisation is viewed. Socials is all about drawing attention, you can do this by:

  • Creating a personal banner that involves your company branding
  • A professional headshot as your profile picture
  • An enticing bio, describing your achievements, title, and skills

Make informed decisions about what you post

Not everything should be posted on a professional account. A potential client will look for posts of the organisation’s most recent achievements, output for other clients involving the services you offer, and your involvement in the company as an employee, such as events.

We would recommend that you stay away from:

  • Excessive reposting with a lack of personal input
  • Post content which does not no link to your organisation, or their service area
  • Inactivity across your LinkedIn page

Keep your organisation’s social media traffic flowing

It is crucial to have a professional online presence if your personal page is associated with your organisation’s social media traffic. Be sure to not only include your own contact information, but also your organisation’s, whether that be social media, phone number, or email address.

A potential client could reach your LinkedIn, but is steered away from your organisation’s LinkedIn if you are not effectively directing traffic to that account.

Every employee can play a part in building your organisation’s brand, and help it stand out.
