ABOUT PETE
Pete Ceglinski has done it all – now listed in the top 10 of 100 Australian innovators of 2022, he started out in life as a product designer, specialising in plastic injection moulded products. A second career in high performance boat building took Pete around the world for 12 years, witnessing plastic pollution in every port visited. It was this observation that in 2014 sparked the creation of Seabin – the revolutionary idea to address pollution in the ocean through a floating rubbish bin designed to catch rubbish, oil and micro plastics and remove them and their destructive impact from our global ocean environments. With investment from over 50 marinas, Seabin has been installed in over 16 countries worldwide in their mission to achieve pollution free oceans. As a result, Seabin is now a data-driven, global brand on the forefront of an emerging nature repair – biodiversity market.
At our conference, Pete will be outlining the importance of measurable impact, community and data to mitigate financial risk related to the environment. On the importance of eco-centric business models, he emphasised: “If you’re in business and you’re not going green or you are not ethical, you won’t survive long in a new consumer-driven market that is now aligning with environmental and moral values.” We’re thrilled to have Pete’s global experience and unparalleled insight into environmental finance with us, you’re not going to want to miss this captain!
